Somero Enterprises Launches Mini Screed(TM) at World of Concrete Trade Show

Mini Screed at World of Concrete Trade ShowLaser Screed technology now available for residential and small commercial markets

Jaffrey, N.H. - Laser-controlled accuracy for extremely flat and level concrete floors used to be possible only in commercial construction where the larger and heavier Somero CopperHead® and SXP® Laser Screed® machines could be used. The new Somero Mini Screed-small enough to fit easily into the back bed of a pick-up truck- is the most portable and versatile Laser Screed ever produced. It is being introduced to the public for the first time at the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada that runs from January 22-25, 2008.

"We work very closely with our customers, listening to their suggestions on ways we can help them increase the quality and efficiency of their concrete work," said Howard Hohmann, Somero vice president of sales for North America. "The Mini Screed is the answer for the thousands of contractors doing residential and small commercial work looking for something small and maneuverable, yet still able to deliver laser-guided accuracy."

Weighing only 352 pounds with a six-foot head, the Mini Screed uses Somero's patented laser-leveling technology to cut the concrete to a finished grade, screed it flat and vibrate it smooth in one pass. Residential flatwork contractors working with slab-on-grade and basement slabs using the Mini Screed can consistently achieve laser accuracy on various slump and mix designs. The Mini Screed delivers better concrete consolidation than hand-held vibratory screeds, also making it an excellent choice for small commercial contractors.

The Mini Screed is the latest invention in a long line of products designed by Somero Enterprises to save the concrete contractor time and money through:
o Superior productivity
o Increased slab quality and flatness
o Reduced need for labor
o More energy for other tasks
o Reduced job-site injuries

Somero Enterprises, Inc. sells and markets its equipment throughout the United States and in over 50 countries including Russia, China and the United Arab Emirates, with customers in every time zone around the globe. Its Laser Screed ® machines are now specified in the construction of warehouses, retail centers, ice rinks and other commercial construction projects that require extremely flat concrete slab floors. With headquarters in New Hampshire, USA, Somero operates a manufacturing facility in Michigan, USA and an international sales and service office in Chesterfield, England, with customer service calls answered 24/7 on a dedicated global support line. Somero is listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange (SOM.L).
